Rationale

Art is a medium for communicating the intangible through what is tangible. In recent years, photography as one of the most mass consumed art form has become exploitative in nature. It’s hard to know when a photograph intended to humanize its subject instead consumes and objectifies a life.

Through the use of personification as a metaphor, this photobook poses the question of “What if we humanized objects instead?”. The purpose of How To Be Human is to promote the prevailment of human nature, as well as offering a sensitive and curious new perspective to life.

What It Means To Be Human

Motion Graphic Video

What truly makes us human, aside from our physical features? The search for answers to this question is one that all of us collectively partake in. This motion graphic video centers around this topic of enquiry and how it is in our nature to seek. Yet, when it comes to the answer, do we really want to know?

Creative Process Journal

This CPJ (Creative Process Journal) serves as a collection of personal reflections, research, case studies and exploration to aid this project as part of Design In Society’s term 1 assignment. The objective of this CPJ is to document my learning process and enhance my understanding of the how design can evolve and impact society.  The project spans 15 weeks and each issue of this CPJ will be a thorough documentation of each week’s lessons and my explorations.
